The Architecture Student Workshop is an annual national gathering that unites architecture students from across Malaysia in a shared space of exploration, collaboration, and critical thinking. It is the central platform where ideas are tested, assumptions are challenged, and the future direction ofarchitectural thought begins to take shape.
Hosted at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UITM) Puncak Alam, the 37TH Architecture Student Workshop 2026 adopts MULAseMULA as its theme, a call to begin again. In an era dominated by digital tools, automation, and artificial intelligence, architecture risks drifting away from human judgment, imagination, and responsibility. MULAseMULA confronts this reality by questioning our growing dependence on technology and reasserting the value of human agency in design.
This theme invites a return to first principles. When systems fail and certaintycollapses, architecture must respond to the essentials: shelter, resilience,adaptability, and connection to nature. MULAseMULA positions architecture not as an image-making exercise, but as a vital human act rooted in necessity andcare.
MULAseMULA 2026 challenges students to think critically, design responsibly,and rediscover why architecture matters.
