The International Festival of Animation, VFX, & Games, known as Animex, was initiated by Teesside University, UK, in 1999. In celebration of the festival's 25th edition, a unique collaboration is being held between Teesside University and the College of Creative Arts (CCA), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia. As part of this collaboration, the festival has been renamed Animex SEA for this year. It will be organised in two phases: the first at Teesside University from 11–15 November 2024, and the second at CCA UiTM on 16–17 November 2024 at Kompleks Kraf, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Animex SEA aims at providing a platform for knowledge-sharing through seminars, featuring distinguished industry panels from both local and international sources, who will share insights and ideas in animation, visual effects, and games.
